The C.Y.O.’s ‘One-to-One’ Program

The Catholic Youth Organization’s ‘One-to-One’ program enables children with special needs to have a safe, rewarding and above all fun and exciting experience while in our care at Camp Brébeuf.

Back in 1972, the Catholic Youth Organization became one of the first organizations in Ontario to integrate children with special needs into their mainstream camping programs.

Today, the ‘One-to-One’ program offers short-term respite care to these special children while they participate in our C.Y.O. camp programs at Camp Brebeuf & Marydale.

Families that request the use of the C.Y.O.’s ‘One-to-One’ Program have children with diverse special needs. These children are diagnosed with any combination of the following physical, behavioural and/or developmental disabilities, such as: Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing & Visually impaired, Angelman Syndrome, Scoliosis, Downs Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Autism, and so many more.

During the past 40 years, over 11,000 children in our community, with special needs and their families have benefited from this unique ‘One-to-One’ Program.

Proceeds from the G.A.M.E. will enable children with special needs to attend summer camp along with their able-bodied friends.

Together we can make a difference…Because every child deserves to play!
